ESG Research Specialist
Responsible for investment research on ESG topics on companies in or for consideration in Brandes portfolios. This position will work closely with our ESG Oversight Committee and will be a key resource to ensure that the investment team is kept current on ESG issues.

Responsible for investment research on ESG topics on companies in or for consideration in Brandes portfolios. This position will work closely with our ESG Oversight Committee and will be a key resource to ensure that the investment team is kept current on ESG issues.
Responsibilities
Conduct investment-focused research on ESG issues related to companies in and/or considered for Brandes portfolios
Support ESG Oversight Committee in San Diego with day-to-day tasks and projects that help ensure investment staff have the adequate resources to stay current on relevant developments related to ESG issues
Support Research team in keeping track of company engagements, stewardship data, etc.
Build understanding of various ESG tools, documents, metrics and how to collate and interpret data
Participate in other ad-hoc client-reporting or management projects when needed
Job Requirements
0-1 year experience
Past internships with asset / fund management companies will be desirable
Proactive, independent and a strong desire to learn through doing
Flexible, resourceful and ability to multi-task and adapt in a small entrepreneurial environment
Keen interest in long-term investing, sustainability reporting and the financial markets
Strong desire to work toward CFA accreditation as well as the CFA’s Certificate in ESG Investing
