Managing Director, Investments Group
One of the key elements of the United Nations-supported Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) Initiative is confirming a commitment to incorporating Environmental, Social, and Governance (“ESG”) issues into the investment process. As long-term fundamental investors, we have always incorporated material ESG issues into our analysis and portfolio construction process. These issues help shape our view on a number of important factors such as the industry dynamics, competitive positioning, and potential liabilities facing a company.
While becoming a signatory to the PRI Initiative requires certain additional reporting requirements, it does not change our fundamental investment process. We are still committed to understanding all material issues impacting the companies we invest in and to building portfolios designed to deliver superior long-term investment returns for our clients.
