Regional Director, Great Plains Region
We are seeking a high-performing Regional Director (Wholesaler) to lead distribution efforts across the Great Plains territory (OK, KS, NE, SD, ND, IA, and TX; subject to change). We are seeking a high-performing Regional Director (Wholesaler) to lead distribution efforts across the Great Plains territory (OK, KS, NE, SD, ND, IA, and TX; subject to change). This role is ideally based in Texas and is best suited for an experienced external wholesaler with an established network and a track record of consultative, relationship-driven sales. You will be driving growth in your territory, deepening advisor partnerships, and representing a distinctive investment philosophy in a dynamic market environment.
In accordance with California Pay Transparency requirements, the expected annual compensation range (base + commission) when meeting sales targets for this role is $300k - $350k/year, with opportunity to exceed targets.
Responsibilities
Drive Growth and Expand Distribution
- Lead territory strategy, including business planning, segmentation, and opportunity mapping
- Generate net new flows while strengthening asset retention
- Identify and convert new business opportunities aligned with Brandes’ long-term approach
- Distribute across multiple vehicles (SMAs, UMAs, mutual funds, ETFs, wrap programs)
- Increase platform presence, grow share-of-wallet, and strengthen partnerships with broker-dealers, platforms, and sub-advisory channels
- Identify cross-selling opportunities across the investment platform
Build Trusted Relationships
- Develop and expand relationships with financial advisors, RIAs, and key clients
- Serve as a primary point of contact and trusted partner
- Navigate complex client needs including onboarding, servicing, and issue resolution
- Lead proactive client retention efforts, especially during challenging markets
Deliver Compelling Insights and Stay Ahead of the Market
- Clearly articulate Brandes’ philosophy, strategies, and market perspective
- Conduct presentations, portfolio reviews, and market discussions
- Equip advisors with differentiated ideas to support their client conversations
- Leverage internal research and thought leadership to deepen engagement
- Maintain strong knowledge of global markets, portfolio positioning, and competitor offerings
- Bring field intelligence back to the firm to inform strategy and positioning
Collaborate & Lead
- Partner across Client Services, Investment, and Marketing teams to deliver results
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to a high-performing culture
- Represent Brandes at industry events and client engagements
Operate with Discipline
- Track activity and pipeline through Salesforce (CRM)
- Apply data-driven segmentation and structured sales processes
- Execute campaigns, meetings, and follow-ups with precision
Qualifications
Experience & Credentials
- 5+ years in investment sales or advisory roles with a strong record of asset growth
- Experience working with broker-dealers and RIAs
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (business or related field)
- SIE, Series 7, and 63/66 (or equivalent); CFA a plus
Commercial & Investment Acumen
- Proven ability to generate net new flows and grow client relationships
- Deep knowledge of investment products (mutual funds, ETFs, SMAs, UMAs)
- Strong understanding of equity markets; value investing experience preferred
Relationship & Communication Skills
- Exceptional presentation and storytelling abilities
- Ability to translate complex investment concepts into clear, actionable insights
- Credibility and influence with sophisticated advisor audiences
- Positive, team-oriented approach
