  • Director, Institutional Portfolio Management
Rhonda Berger leads the firm’s Institutional Portfolio Management group and is a member of the Investment Oversight Committee. Additionally, she is an Advisory Board Member of The Brandes Center at the Rady School of Management, UC San Diego. She works with institutional clients and their consultants to provide insights and interpretation of the firm’s portfolio strategies and investment philosophy. She coordinates with the firm’s investment committees to accommodate client-specific guidelines and to consider existing portfolio allocations when implementing investment decisions. She is a limited partner of the firm’s parent company. Prior to her current role, Ms. Berger was an Institutional Client Portfolio Manager on various strategies and a Product Specialist with the firm’s Mid Cap strategies.

Q:  What led you to co-found the Women’s Network at Brandes?
A: I’ve been very fortunate in my career to have had some strong mentors along the way but if we want to attract and retain more women in asset management, we need to reach back and help build a pipeline.  The informal networks of women are powerful and supportive but expanding that platform more broadly has enabled us to establish new initiatives, such as the Brandes RISE Mentorship Program.  All of us at Brandes would like to share the expertise and experience that we’ve gained and help the next generation of women be prepared for the opportunities offered in the investment field.
