Press Release: Brandes Launches U.S. Value Fund

Brandes Investment Partners Launches U.S. Value Fund

The Fund includes U.S. large-cap businesses trading below their estimated true worth

SAN DIEGO, CA – January 14, 2022 - Brandes Investment Partners announces the launch of the Brandes U.S. Value Fund. The Fund (BUVIX, BUVAX, BUVRX) seeks long-term capital appreciation by investing in U.S.-based large-capitalization companies that the investment team believes are undervalued relative to their financial strength and upside potential.

“We are excited to bring the Brandes U.S. Value solution to clients in a fund wrapper with competitive pricing,” said Marsha Otto, CFA, Director of Mutual Funds at Brandes. “Identifying unique value opportunities hinges strongly on thorough research and analysis, which has been our foundation for close to 50 years. The Fund’s disciplined fundamental value approach along with the flexibility to invest across the full spectrum of sectors and industries will serve long-term shareholders well.”

The Fund is managed by a committee of experienced professionals who have an average of more than 23 years of industry experience and have previously managed extreme market cycles. The committee proactively applies a value-based, research-driven approach to purchasing undervalued companies with the goal of capturing future price appreciation for investors.

“Historically, value investing has tended to outperform during periods of rising inflation,” said Brent Fredberg, Director, Investments Group at Brandes, and member of the U.S. Value Fund committee. “The committee will look to take advantage of mispricing in undervalued and often less popular but well-positioned companies that may compliment the rest of an investor’s portfolio. We feel the current environment offers a healthy number of such opportunities.”

Because the values of the Fund's investments will fluctuate with market conditions, so will the value of your investment in the Fund. You could lose money on your investment in the Fund, or the Fund could underperform other investments. The values of the Fund’s investments fluctuate in response to the activities of individual companies and general stock market and economic conditions. Investments in small and medium capitalization companies tend to have limited liquidity and greater price volatility than large capitalization companies.
