The Brandes RISE Mentorship Program for College Women

Who We Are:

Founded 1974, Brandes Investment Partners is a leading investment advisory firm based in San Diego, CA with 40+ years of investment experience.

The company manages global equity and fixed income assets for investors worldwide.

Our Program:

Aims to bridge young women who are motivated and curious about the investment management industry with investment professionals from our firm to foster your interest and confidence in pursuing a career in investment management. The goal is to jump start your preparation for an investment management career. As part of the program, each mentee will:

• Have access to two mentors, with at least one of them being a woman.
• Be able to tap into mentors’ professional experiences. Receive useful career tips and advice from each of your mentors in your monthly meetings.
• Build a network early in your career with fellow mentees and mentors.

Program Qualifications

• Actively enrolled undergraduate women attending a four-year university in the San Diego area; ideal candidates are rising sophomores or juniors, but we encourage all years to apply. First-year year MBA candidates will also be considered on a selective basis.
• Passion for learning and an inquisitive mind demonstrated through our online application, which closes on October 30, 2023, with accepted applicants being notified in mid to late November.
• Strong communication and time management skills.

Mentee Responsibilities

• Accepted applicants are required to attend a program kick-off where they will be introduced to the program and have the opportunity to network with other mentees, with select mentors also joining the event.
• Proactively schedule and participate in monthly mentorship activities – Inactive participants may face termination from the program.
• Showing initiative and ownership over self-learning – Active participants who wish to continue in the program will be given priority to continue following the conclusion of the 2023-2024 school year.

Our Application includes a form and two short essays to introduce yourself. No interviews required.

The Brandes RISE Mentorship Program for College Women is not an employment program. However, mentees who complete this program are encouraged to apply for the Research Associate position or the MBA Program on Brandes Careers.
